Apple has terminated Epic's App Store account, following legal dispute between the companies; Epic has an alternative Apple account to manage its Unreal Engine

As previously warned by Apple, Epic's App Store account has now been terminated due to the Fortnite developer knowingly violating App Store policy.

@9to5mac Apple's statement isn't forthright. They chose to terminate Epic's account; they didn't *have* to. Apple suggests we spammed the App Store review process. That's not so. Epic submitted three Fortnite builds: two bug-fix updates, and the Season 4 update with this note. ht…

Just another reminder that no matter how big a developer you are, no matter how many users you have, no matter how long you've been on the App Store, or however many WWDC keynotes you've been on stage for, Apple can wipe you out in an instant — that's why it needs to be regulated

But either way, for Zuck to complain that Apple built a secure, trusted system with structural barriers against abuse seems to show a slight, well, lack of situational awareness.

Every problem that Facebook has had in the last five years comes from building a social platform the way Microsoft was building software in the 90s - building it to be open, without thinking ‘what would an asshole do with this?’ Apple built iOS exactly the opposite
