I have a visceral negative reaction to the certification part of this.  Can't fully articulate why yet, but seems somehow dangerous (from a worker power dynamics perspective) to have this all from one entity.  [embedded post]

Seeing a lot, lot, lot of “if I'm using Claude 4 in Cursor, is Claude Code really that much better?”  Why not just try it and see, right?  Lots of devs “fearful” of a CLI and used to GUI, and also people really rely on things like hitting the play button in their IDE to run/test their code.  (IMO)

Who is the Llama 4 Scout “can run on a single GPU” marketing line aimed at?  People who don't understand this stuff won't understand why running on a single GPU is impressive, and people who do understand this stuff will know it's basically a lie or misleading at best.  —  RE: https://www.threads.net/...

Am I the only one not excited about structured outputs?  I was super bullish on them 6 months to a year ago, but have since found 1) it tends to degrade overall token quality in non-obvious ways, and 2) these days you can achieve perfect JSON output following with prompting alone + occasional retry https://openai.com/...

I hate to say it but hu.ma.ne really bothers me.  They sucked up so much funding into something that never could've worked (their approach to product development and go-to-market.)  I called this out years ago when they released their second vague hype video - it was clearly Magic Leap 2.0, even back then. …

This is such a bummer. This tech industry once raised the irreverent pirate flag, and celebrated the crazy ones, misfits, and rebels. Now just a whiff of fair competition, and they cower in back rooms with their lobbyists. And they win, without a taste of competition or fairness. https://twitter.com/...
