Who they are

Its Seller Central tools now let US merchants manage eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart sales, and its beta access for Anthropic’s Claude and Quick opens workflows to approved agents; yet Amazon blocked Meta’s Muse from shopping on Amazon.com, citing terms, security and merchant-consent concerns. That conflict sits alongside competitive pressure in India’s quick-commerce market and direct service competition with Walmart, including drone delivery in Richardson, Texas.

Why it matters

If this trajectory holds, Amazon could become more deeply embedded as the operating layer for merchants across channels while using robotics to reinforce fulfillment scale. The open question is whether selective AI-agent access can produce useful seller automation without weakening Amazon’s control over customer, merchant and transaction rules; regulatory scrutiny in India and competition from local quick-commerce operators, Walmart and other sales platforms make that balance consequential.
