There is also MS HoloLens which is around the same price that this Apple headset is rumored to be priced at. It seems to have gained decent traction in the enterprise space. Michael Love / @elkmovie : @shameermulji Yes. “Decent traction in the enterprise space” is not the sort of thing that would justify Apple throwing thousands of engineers at a product, not to mention that Apple are not exactly rock stars at building enterprise business. Michael Love / @elkmovie : I also don't necessarily think this is going to be the next iPhone in any case - Alexa certainly wasn't - but absent some dramatic new consumer AR “killer app” that nobody's actually come up with yet, it's going to be Meta + console makers with Apple struggling for a few %. Power On: The iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and...Apple Vision? Here are potential names for Apple's first AR/VR headset. Plus, find out which cars are next to get CarKey and more on the headset and a battery-powered HomePod. https://www.bloomberg.com/...
Can do this with my Android phone (not iOS) already on my Elantra. Works great with my phone, there's also a physical key that fits in my credit card for emergencies or valet use. [Apple's digital car keys may work with Hyundai and Genesis...]
Apple is going to release its first major new hardware product in years, and no one knows what it's called yet. Place your bets https://www.bloomberg.com/... via @markgurman
First thing my wife said when we got a HomePod mini is “what do you mean it plugs into the wall. Why would Apple not make it battery powered?” Definitely should consider it still. https://twitter.com/...
“Sources: Apple is considering delaying the debut of its mixed-reality headset from WWDC due to development challenges related to overheating, cameras, software” Apple is having the same issues as the rest of the planet, I guess. I thought their chips were perfect?
Apple sold about 10 million Apple Watches during its first full year (fiscal year 2016). AirPods unit sales was a little more than 15 million in its first full year (fiscal year 2018).
@neilcybart Agreed. But it is Apple. And Apple now knows what it takes. We aren't in 2007 anymore where Apple sold 1.8 million phones out the gate. Expectations are a lot higher than that now. Apple sells that many every two days now.
Bloomberg's @markgurman reports Apple's XR device announcement pushed back from WWDC & no consumer availability until 2023 because of “development challenges related to overheating, cameras and software.” @Meta iteratively solved lots of thermal issues with 9 products over 7 yrs.…
When it does launch, Apple's likely to price it above $2,000 due to its high-end nature. Apple's own estimates suggest it's targeting 7-10 million units in the first year. Following the launch, WWDC 2023 will focus heavily on building VR and AR apps. https://www.bloomberg.com/...
