[Thread] Twitter says Trump's account will be locked for 12 hours following removal of recent tweets, and further violations will result in permanent suspension

As a result of the unprecedented and ongoing violent situation in Washington, D.C., we have required the removal of three @realDonaldTrump Tweets that were posted earlier today for repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy. https://help.twitter.com/...

Future violations of the Twitter Rules, including our Civic Integrity or Violent Threats policies, will result in permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account.
  • @twittersafety @twittersafety on x
This means that the account of @realDonaldTrump will be locked for 12 hours following the removal of these Tweets. If the Tweets are not removed, the account will remain locked.

Facebook (including Instagram) are removing all photos/videos from the coup today. Again, showing they are perfectly able to act and remove content if they wanted to. It took an armed coup attempt to actually do anything. With only a fortnight of Trump remaining. https://twitter.…

At this point Facebook is actually taking a (relatively) stronger approach to POTUS' posts than Twitter, which is the opposite of how it has gone in the past.

Does that include photos and video posted by reporters covering this attempted white supremacist coup? This policy seems wildly overly broad and vague, par for the course when social media platforms make moderation decisions based on news cycles https://twitter.com/...
