The FCC is about to vote to restore #NetNeutrality. Finally. The telecom industry lit a mountain of money on fire and used every dirty trick in the book to try to prevent this. But millions spoke out, organized, and protested. And we won. WATCH HERE: https://www.youtube.com/...

Fantastic! We've been saying for years that the way to protect kids online is by cracking down on surveillance & harmful business practices, rather than trying to censor content. The FTC has significant authority in this area, and they should use every ounce of it. Let's go!

I vehemently disagree with Fairplay on bills like KOSA. But I completely agree that this legal attack from Meta is absurd and dangerous. The FTC needs more authority to protect our rights online, not less.

I said this in the staement that we released ahead of today's hearing, but I'm incredibly greatful to Arturo Bejar for speaking out. Whistleblowers should always be supported. The more the public knows about Big Tech's biz practices, the better. #KOSA still sucks. 🤷‍♀️

Despite broad support by the US public and lawmakers for child internet laws, Congress has done nothing, even after holding 39 hearings on the topic since 2017

Americans are broadly united in support of laws to make the internet safer for kids.  So why doesn't Congress act? Mastodon: @carnage4life@mas.to . X: @justinhendrix , @superwuster...

@superwuster You also ignore the fact that there are still dozens of LGBTQ orgs that oppose KOSA, including many that represent trans folks in red and purple states, while parroting Blumenthal's exaggeration about a small handful of national orgs moving to neutral (they still have concerns)
