In macOS Monterey's new developer beta, Apple appears to walk back on its revamp of Safari's tabs, which were set to become more efficient with vertical space
just surprised they are doing so. They didn't care what anyone thought about iOS 7. Collin Donnell / @collindonnell : @lapcatsoftware These things are all demoed for executives and directors a bunch during development and they'll pick out really specific stuff they want changed. It's kind of wild to think Craig saw the Safari design was like “dope. ship it.” @jonyiveparody : Live look at Apple's Safari development team: #Apple https://twitter.com/... https://twitter.com/... Federico Viticci / @viticci : Oh my, what happened to Safari in iPadOS 15 beta 3? 😬 Tabs flying around more than before, distracting animations, new tabs now open on the right, but new links don't every time. Please, Apple, let us revert this design like on Monterey. This is bad. https://9to5mac.com/... https://twitter.com/... @dylanmcd8 : Can they please just let us disable this design? In related news, macOS Moterey b3 still doesn't have Universal Control so I will be staying on beta 1 so I don't loose old safari. https://twitter.com/...

As expected, Apple is continuing to tweak the design of Safari in iOS 15. In beta 3, the address bar is now docked above the keyboard. There is a new search UI and support for quick website searches too. Getting better! https://twitter.com/...

“Apple is listening” when we tell them their designs are bad is not the best feeling. I mean, better than not listening, but how about not making bad designs in the first place? Maybe Apple should be listening to new leaders after the current ones are fired for incompetence.

Apple has reversed course on its attempt to clean up Safari's tab and address bar. It'll keep the new compact approach as an option but make the old Safari look the default. https://www.cnet.com/...

Nothing except they are paying attention to those who are speaking to the fact that it was a terrible design decision and they rectified fast. It is a good thing to see in a company. https://twitter.com/...
