Another detail about visionOS is that the current build has only been translated to German, French, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Of course this is a super early beta, but this may be a clue as to the first countries that will get the device after the US.

I've been trying Final Cut for iPad here and honestly, it feels more like iMovie Pro. Not only for the missing features, but for the poor optimization to use it with a keyboard and trackpad. Glad it exists for iPad users but far from replacing the Mac version for now.

Honestly, if there's one company that can make a mainstream Twitter competitor, that company is Meta. Especially with an app under the Instagram brand sharing the same account. https://twitter.com/...

I had to write this one after watching @MKBHD's video. If we start questioning the AI used to enhance a photo of the moon, then we'll have to question every photo enhancement done by AI - including Apple's Smart HDR, Deep Fusion, and Night Mode. https://twitter.com/...

How thieves are watching iPhone owners publicly tap their passcodes to lock victims out of accounts, access data, and loot financial apps after stealing devices

The passcode that unlocks your phone can give thieves access to your money and data; 'it's like a treasure box'

This (thieves stealing phones to access bank apps) has been a problem for a long time in Brazil. But now that it's affecting people in the US, maybe Apple will care more and do something to change this.

Here I have a comparison with a selfie taken with my old iPad Air (with a regular 7MP camera) and my iPad mini with Center Stage (with a 12MP ultra-wide camera). I do think that iPad Air takes sharper pictures than iPad mini (although it has worse HDR due to the older chip). https://twitter.com/...

New Apple Studio Display beta firmware offers minimal webcam quality improvements, suggesting software is not the issue; the culprit may be the ultra-wide lens

Quick take on the Studio Display webcam: the ultra-wide lens is what makes it worse. No software update will fix this.

The thing is, the ultra-wide lens is 12MP at its full size. It basically zooms in on you with digital cropping to make the image look like a regular photo, so you're losing quality. Not to mention that the ultra-wide lens has a smaller aperture, so it gets less light. https://twitter.com/...

I'm already seeing people comparing M2 with M1 Ultra. Remember: M2 will be a low-power, entry-level chip. It should be better than M1, not M1 Ultra. They are in completely different categories. https://twitter.com/...

Apple this week introduced Mac Studio, which is somewhat based on the Mac mini but with much more powerful hardware - but that doesn't mean it's the end of Mac mini.
