@PatrickMoorhead But almost no one bought Intel Macs to play AAA games because Mac GPUs were relatively weak, few PC games were ported to macOS, and many of those that did were poor ports. ie this was not an issue for Intel Macs so won't be for m1 Macs

Also, because we are now a ‘free download’ (as we want to offer pay-once AND subscriptions) any troll can just download Halide and spout this garbage. My no.1 wish for WWDC is to restrict reviews to paying users, just like paid apps. Would also kill scam subscription apps.

Seems Apple PR got to him and made him delete the tweet For context: he's the Associate Creative Director of Film at Apple https://twitter.com/...

So Joseph works at Apple. He used to work at Audi doing cinematography. He said this was the biggest project of his career which he just delivered. This means it's a fully finished video that's being showed off at WWDC. Apple car teaser or announcement?? What do you guys think? h…

One needle I'm hoping Apple will thread tomorrow at #WWDC with the new MacBook Pros: -creators like to play games -the new M1-based MacBook Pros won't play AAA games well, if at all -since M1 arrived, no AAA gaming ISVs have gone all-in -will this matter?

“something [...] even devout developers couldn't ignore: Apple was building its case on the idea that Apple, not developers, was solely responsible for the success of the iPhone.” “Some of those developers are now supremely unhappy.” 🎯 by @StarFire2258 https://www.theverge.com/..…

Here's two lists of which games work, don't work with the M1-based MacBooks, according to @PrincipledTech and @Intel. It'd be great to get a list from @Apple, but I haven't seen it. #WWDC #WWDC21 https://twitter.com/...

    Anyway WWDC is next week.

Here is an amazing web page that exists because of and is entirely designed to deal with Apple's App Store rules. It's the page the Ring iPhone app takes you to when your subscription to view old footage has expired. Click it, what do you notice? 1/ https://ring.com/...

Clearly new features coming to Messages is going to be a central theme of #WWDC21 . https://apps.apple.com/... #ConvComm https://twitter.com/...
  • @chrismessina @chrismessina on x
So curious whether #WWDC21 is going to be a #ConvComm repudiation of #F8Refresh. The messaging battles are about to get real. https://twitter.com/...

Very curious to see what Mind turns out to be, especially since it's a separate app from Breathe https://twitter.com/...

This is a way anticompetition works under the tech monopoly. First force the app maker into your captive market. Second, steal the app. Thanks for the R&D, guys! https://twitter.com/...

I wonder if this new “Mind” app will be exclusive to watchOS since it doesn't have a prefix like the watchOS exclusive “tincan” Walkie-Talkie app. https://twitter.com/...

For the iPad, “an improved multitasking system to make it easier to operate multiple apps at the same time” could be anything from a small whoop to a huge one. https://www.bloomberg.com/...

A few more tidbits from the Mark Gurman report: - Elements of the Lock Screen redesign for iOS/iPadOS have been pushed back - macOS will get a minor update - watchOS will gain health-tracking + interface improvements - tvOS will get “enhanced software” https://www.bloomberg.com/.…
