Tony Hsieh might be the most original thinker I've ever been friends with. He questioned every assumption and shared everything he learned along the way. He genuinely delighted in making anyone and everyone happy. The earth has lost a beautifully weird and helpful person. RIP

I just heard about Tony Hsieh's passing and it's hitting me. Back in the early days of Simple I tried to poach his head of customer service. He found out and made a counter-offer: we could come to meet his team and they'd teach us about how they operated.

Everyone is remembering Tony Hsieh and the kind and helpful person he was. And I'm probably the only person who remembers that he had a Venture Frogs *restaurant* at the Metreon, with dishes named after startups. That's where I first learned about Zappos.
