Apple announces it will hold an event on October 13 at 10am PDT, where it's expected to unveil new 5G iPhones; invites are titled “Hi, Speed.”

and that looks a lot like Apple's rumored AirTags (Tile clone) right on the invite. https://twitter.com/... Joe Rossignol / @rsgnl : 5G. A14. Both speedy. https://twitter.com/... Matthew Panzarino / @panzer : Quarantine vacation money + eating out money —> iPhone money. Going to be a banger of a sales cycle for Apple. https://twitter.com/...

Yes, you can read into Apple event slogans and taglines. “Speed” is very likely referring to new iPhones. As for Apple event invite imagery hinting at specific products, that is more up for debate. My initial reaction with this new invite was some audio-related news. https://twit…

Time for the the internet to collectively read way too far into this “Hi Speed” is definitely a nod to 5G. Gotta love speed. Also A14 chip But I also love fast screens. So 120Hz would be nice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 4 golden rings here. Quad... cameras? Fast cameras? Now we're reaching 😅 https…

Apple's last event was the day before Facebook announced Oculus Quest 2. Their next event happens the day Oculus Quest 2 goes on sale. Also Prime Day. Anything else? https://www.cnet.com/...

@PhlBlackSheep @FreezerslYT 6 months ago, I said October. Over a month ago, I narrowed down the exact week. Not “30 day window”. Said “week 42” Weeks ago, I said literally “October 13”.

So, is everyone's plan to inject Amazon Prime deals into the Apple keynote live blog feed? https://twitter.com/...
  • @ihnatko Andy Ihnatko on x
Thanks for the responses. It seems that this email/invite went out to lots of regular customers, not just press. (Good for Apple...no reason not to draw in as much of the community as possible)

Going indie before there was an Apple iPhone event during Amazon Prime Day is unintentionally the absolute smartest thing I've ever done. Sorry, pro media friends. So sorry. I will do my best to live for all of you. RIP. DED. 🙏 https://twitter.com/...

Hope “Hi Speed” means forever goodbye to 5W charging #AppleEvent https://twitter.com/...

Quarantine has been hard on all of us but Apple has just the prescription: a thousand-dollar phone that comes without a charger

In addition to 5G and A14, the “Hi, Speed” tagline could also be a teaser for the iPhone 12 Pro getting a LiDAR Scanner, which Apple said “operates at the photon level at nano-second speeds” for the iPad Pro. And it might even be a fitting tagline for AirTags with UWB.
  • @jetscott Scott Stein on x
What I'll be interested in: -How AirTags work and what else that U1 chip could do -what sort of LIDAR stuff Apple has in store for the iPhone AR/camera

Here's my roundup of everything we think we know about this year's iPhones. They could have a whole new look, 5G, all-OLED screens, and more. But the thing I want most is that rumored 5.4-inch “iPhone mini.” I don't like big phones. https://www.theverge.com/...

Also, an Apple event held on the Tuesday following a long weekend. Lots of new things being tried this year due to the lack of in-person events and travel.

Obvious 5G reference for the iPhones — and that looks a lot like Apple's rumored AirTags (Tile clone) right on the invite. https://twitter.com/...

Noone cares about Speed on the iPhone (it's fast enough for most people), and the iPhone 12 processor has already been announced on the iPad Air. If the messaging is Speed, I expect ARM Macs. https://twitter.com/...
