Lip-Bu Tan resigned from the board in protest last year, so the return as the next CEO is an interesting if unsurprising development.  I'd interpret this as positive overall for Intel, as it needs engineering leadership—not an accountant—to navigate out of an engineering problem.…

A few quick takes on incoming $INTC CEO Lip-Bu Tan: 1/ He has the pedigree...a combo design + fab/foundry experience.  Not too many of those around.  He is a semi icon... 3/The first thing Tan needs to do is determine if/when there will be a split and whether Intel will remain in…

Intel found someone brave enough to be its new CEO—but is Lip-Bu Tan a change maker or more of the same? https://fortune.com/...

Bearish for Lip Bu Tan's grandchildren tbh “My wife tells me you supposed to be retired and spend time with your grandchildren, and not busy running Cadence anymore but now you even more busy”

He would have no reason to remember me, but I first encountered Lip-Bu Tan on the board of an Israeli startup ages ago - and he is extremely sharp and commercially savvy. Probably exactly the sort of outsider that Intel needs now. Intel appoints Lip-Bu Tan as its next CEO

honored to have lip-bu tan (lbt) back in the mix as intel's ceo. we had the privilege of working closely with lbt at cadence as an investor. i suspect this will be well received by an ecosystem that understands his ethos. buckle up. @Intel @sequoia [image]

A couple of quick takes on the LIP-BU TAN appointment as CEO of Intel 1. Expect efficiency—There will be a leaning/cutting of resources, projects, and focus. 2. Split Talk — LIP-BU was known to support a split. This will bring the topic of full split/spin of the foundry back

I'm pretty sure that Lip Bu Tan, and funds he led, have invested in more US semis start ups over the past ten years than all other US institutional VCs combined. Single handedly propped up the whole complex.

Probably the best possible hire Intel could make. Lip Bu is a legend and knows how to navigate the Semiconductor landscape better than just about anyone on the planet.

Intel names Lip-Bu Tan as CEO. A semiconductor veteran, Tan led Cadence through a massive turnaround, driving 3,200% stock growth & doubling revenue. His deep ties in chip design & foundry ecosystems will be key as Intel pushes forward on its IDM 2.0 strategy.l. $INTC

The new $intc ceo, lip-bu tan would've pushed the stock to the mid 30s if the market didn't collapse. Saying that this was one of like 3 people the board had to get. They got him. This should send Intel if the market doesn't continue its collapse.

Lip-Bu Tan joins Hock Tan of Broadcom as another Malaysian-born leader at the head of a major US semiconductor firm. Both trained at MIT. (Broadcom, market cap $910 billion, is 2nd largest after nVidia.) Hock is from Penang and Lip-Bu from my home state of Johor. Both Intel and
