Meanwhile, this is a notice of proposed rulemaking so we're a long way from this becoming operative. Reps. DeLauro and Blumenauer have a bill to ban certain de minimis packages, they say that bill's still needed. The White House has endorsed the bill and want it done this year.

Administration action cracking down on the de mimimus exemption is a most welcome development. It is long past time for the Congress to get its act together and pass strong legislation consistent with the @repblumenauer bill
