Amazon has revealed a programmable Dash Button which can be assigned to any product or purpose, a customizable version of its one-touch reordering gadgets.

The AWS IoT Button is the next step in that arc — same Dash hardware, but instead of being hard-wired to one product, it is a $19.95 general-purpose trigger developers can point at any cloud service, from Twitter and Facebook to Netflix, Uber or Slack. That reframes the button from a commerce peripheral into a cheap entry point into AWS's Internet-of-Things tooling.
