The only thing worse than making an AI that's manipulatively flirty and seductive in the exact same manner as Scarlett Johansson in Her is doing that, getting dudes addicted to Her, and then cruelly taking their Her away

My money's on OpenAI not revealing the name of the actor who voiced their “Sky” product because the actor _does not fucking exist_, and they just trained their damned product on a sample set of Scarlett Johansson anyway to get around the whole thorny problem of, y'know, _paying h…

@arturot ... No. I'm sure you saw the announcements on Monday? Significant updates coming to the entire speech capabilities (as part of the move to the 4o Omni model). Those demos shown are the richness of the speech capability you will get. https://openai.com/...

Gonna be prettttty hard to get that “never intended to resemble hers” to hold up in court now! Would love to know how many Scarlett Johansson and ‘Her’ references are getting mass deleted from the OpenAI Slack at this very moment

“Open” AI is now a company that: -keeps all of its training data and key operations secret -forced employees to sign powerful NDAs or forfeit equity -won't say whether it trained its video generator on YouTube -lies to movie stars then lies about the lies “Open.” What a farce.

Bizarre and suspect. Why would OpenAI pull the voice if it was confident it was not trained on Scarlett Johansson's? Unless at least *some* Johansson audio clips were in the training data? Hard to say, from the company that can't tell you if its models were trained on YouTube

“Sky's voice is not an imitation of Scarlett Johansson but belongs to a different professional actress using her own natural speaking voice.” Then don't pause Sky. Don't appease whoever it is that is problematizing this.

Our AI Scarlett Johansson was simply too seductive, her subtle flirtyness too flirty. Our independent panel of AI risk experts declared a horny threshold had been crossed and pulled the emergency break

OpenAI is pulling the AI voice that was used in their announcement of GPT-4o because people said it sounds like Scarlett Johansson from Her. This is odd mostly because there's little chance it was a coincidence and did they not expect people to point it out?

You see that folks? We all collectively memed and mocked the ridiculous voice OpenAI used so hard that we enacted change. This is a brilliant teachable moment. Good job, everyone. Truly a victory for the people.
