For God sake...who journal's without formatting? And second, no organizational features; tags, folders, etc. … Jason Cipriani / @mrcippy@mrcippy.xyz : iOS 17.2 brings a bunch of changes and features, one of which is the new Journal app that's currently exclusive to the iPhone. I've been using it for a few weeks.. and even though it's basic, I think there's some beauty in the simplicity. https://www.pocket-lint.com/ ... Jonathan Ruiz / @refactoredd@mastodon.online : I'm excited to see Apple make a journal app. I know some had mentioned how simple it is during the beta cycle. But I'm shocked you don't have a detail view of entries. Maybe I'm not looking in the right spot but I didn't think it's this simple. I know it's just the beginning but I hope they add more updates in the future. … @pitermach@dragonscave.space : Some major Apple OS updates just dropped. In particular Mac users should really update to 14.2, because it seems to largely solve the Safari not responding issue. There's also a new checkbox in the quicknav commander settings to allow you to type into text fields without turning single letter quicknav off … J. Martin / @gyokusai@mastodon.social : Updating now to iOS 17.2 and looking forward to Apple's Journal app! — I was a veteran user of #DayOne before they enshittified it by eliminating important (for me) features like Markdown; converting it to a subscription model; and cramming tons of stuff into it that made both the UI & the UX worse & worse. … X: Parker Ortolani / @parkerortolani : honestly the best new feature in today's updates is the new TV app on Apple TV https://www.apple.com/... Aaron Zollo / @zollotech : I haven't seen this before. On iPadOS 17.2 at the top it says Siri Updating. Thanks @brahmshank for sharing it. [image] Matt Mullenweg / @photomatt : We're very excited to have potentially a billion+ people seeing the incredible value in journaling/blogging, and we have some amazing apps like @dayoneapp for them to try out if they want to pay for more than what the built-in offers. Alex Heath / @alexeheath : We're going to have AGI before it's easy to stream something from your iPhone to a hotel TV Joe Rossignol / @rsgnl : NEW: Apple has delayed an iOS 17 feature that will allow you to connect your iPhone to compatible hotel room TVs via AirPlay until 2024. Apple originally said the feature would launch this year. Apple said Holiday Inn parent company IHG Hotels & Resorts would adopt the feature. Benjamin Mayo / @bzamayo : Apparently tvOS 17.2 lets you accept an incoming FaceTime call directly from the Apple TV ... now where's the permanent camera hardware accessory at Fernando Silva / @nandoprince93 : 😳 I am beyond impressed with the new journaling app. 🤯 I am NOT someone who journals or has journaled ever. But Apple has found a way to make it dead easy by enticing you to journal. They put together an entry for you that is 80% - 90% done so all you have to do is input a few words. Amazingly done. Still something's I would add and change but for the most part they have accomplished what they wanted to do... Mark Gurman / @markgurman : Apple got the founder of Day One to endorse the new Journal app in iOS 17.2. Incredible as one can argue Journal “Sherlocks” Day One. [image]
