@jeremybmerrill First flagged on Hacker News: https://news.ycombinator.com/ .... Delay works because X shortens every link through https://t.co/, letting it throttle any click. Twitter created feature for speed and safety, but it's now used for Musk's personal grievances. Wouldn'…

Twitter allegedly adds a delay when loading NY Times and Threads pages via its https://t.co/ domain. What does the DSA say about such activity? Platforms must disclose “any restrictions” imposed on information provided by users. But is this “content moderation”? [image]

Wow. This is no joke. In order to punish sites that Elmo is mad at, they're making the sites appear slower by artificially adding a delay. Because this solves problems. Just normal business acumen from an intelligent person. [image]

was told this last week by some who has been testing it, also the case for threads links either it's a bug that affects at least two sites the owner happens to hate, or it's vindictive no actual user experience case for this to exist
  • @film_girl Christina Warren on x
Two things: 1) what a little bitch baby. 2) NYT should just remove the “share to Twitter” button. All publishers should. The engagement it drives is more for him than for you. Fuck him. Deprive the network of the juice.

I'm not sure what could ever be “pro” about TweetDeck given what's (not) on twitter these days. Old Twitter had a lot of problems, but Elon's sure managed to stamp out any good they did have. I suppose this ends future Demetricator support for TweetDeck. https://www.theverge.com/…

Killing tweetdeck is probably the last straw for me. I'm honestly not even sure how you use this platform without it.
  • @brigidalverson @brigidalverson on x
Welp, I restarted my computer and now Tweetdeck has gone, unless I decide to pay for it. The new version is already terrible as it won't allow me to do the one thing I use it for: Managing several accounts in a single window. I don't respond well to extortion, and I ain't paying.
  • @nemof Nemo on x
tweetdeck legacy will not load User tweets if you click on a profile then click on tweets. Columns that are based on a given user will not load either. Others seem to be having the same issue. has API been turned off for some legacy endpoints? [image]

i'm sure i'll still be around on here, i can't help it but the entire reason i've stayed addicted to this platform over the years is having tweetdeck open behind my other apps all day and fuck me running if elon thinks i'm paying for the privilege

welp, so they finally got around to putting up the paywall for TweetDeck — I just tried to load it and was redirected to a sign-up page for Twitter Blue guess I'll just be looking at way fewer tweets! [image]
