This looks like a solid piece of work from @iconews. Serco used biometrics for staff monitoring with no non-biometric alternative available. Not necessary. Very clear what is expected and useful for anyone trying to persuade UK clients not to do this sort of thing.

If Meta's “consent or pay” model succeeds at the CJEU... I think prohibiting it from ad targeting under legitimate interests will have backfired EEA users go from opting out for free to opting out for €13/month I get the legal arguments but it means less privacy or less money

Irish Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon resigns on 19 Feb 2024. End-of-an-era stuff. As the head of the regulator overseeing tech giants like Meta, Google, and Microsoft, Dixon's office has been at the forefront of GDPR enforcement (or, some might say, non-enforcement). [image]

The California Delete Act has been signed into law. I finally (ghost)wrote something about this law and it is pretty substantial Obviously it's an opt-out model (because this is California) but the most effective element could be the law's registration and audit requirements 🧵 [image]
