Among the many challenges people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) face is its impact on their speech.

Funny thing about this great @harrymccracken story on Apple's new Personal Voice accessibility feature is I know nearly every one of the players Harry talked to in his reporting. Also, “nothing abut us without us” is as much a truism as it is a mantra. https://www.fastcompany.com…

I talked with some of the people responsible for Apple's upcoming Personal Voice technology, which uses the Neural Engine to let people with ALS create a synthesized replica of their own voice on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. https://www.fastcompany.com/ ...

@tim_cook Apple has really gone above and beyond on accessibility. Kudos to you and the team Tim, really great what Apple has done in this area.

Thank you ⁦@FastCompany⁩ for featuring ⁦@Apple⁩ Personal Voice and highlighting the importance for people that may have #ALS to bank their voice as early as possible because once your voice is gone... it's gone. https://www.fastcompany.com/ ...

Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day! Apple's accessibility efforts remain a point of pride for me. Ensuring all or products can be used by the widest variety of people is really important work and often goes unnoticed. Let's spotlight this work. https://www.apple.com/...

I'm seeing a lot of think pieces this week on how cool Apple's new AI-oriented accessibility features are, particularly Personal Voice. As I told someone a couple days ago, it's not hard to imagine Point to Speak being even more useful on, say, a mixed reality headset.
