Anthropic says it has confidentially filed for an IPO, which could happen as soon as this fall, joining OpenAI and SpaceX in preparing to go public in 2026

The only part of the AI boom that seems reasonably priced right now is the labs themselves. Retail will fix that real quick.

Anthropic has confidentially submitted a draft S-1 registration statement to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Pending completion of SEC review, this gives us the option to pursue an initial public offering. Read more: https://www.anthropic.com/...

Anthropic filing confidentially now seems to put it on a path to go public well before Labor Day... Or at least gives it the optionality. Big companies rarely price into summer vacations, but this already is an outlier for so many reasons.

the first time i visited Anthropic it was a 160-person start-up in Jackson Square with no products and no revenue. there was an office throne made of empty Liquid Death cans and everyone seemed vaguely allergic to making money. that was THREE YEARS AGO. now they're going to go

Reminder that the ability to confidentially file for an IPO was a 2012 rule change meant to ease small companies (revenue < $1b) to the markets. It was later expanded but what are we even doing here

Here we go: Anthropic confidentially submits draft S-1 to the SEC The most important question: who will go public first, OpenAI or Anthropic? OpenAI wanted to beat Anthropic to the punch, but now Anthropic seems to be in a hurry. Currently, Anthropic's valuation is higher. The [i…

Both OpenAI and Anthropic are racing to IPO ahead of each other and catch up to SpaceX/xAI. The problem is whoever lands first probably sets the floor and ceiling for public market pricing that others will follow into for at least 12-18 months. Then it will come down to the

It's funny how people thought raising a mere $50B was going to slow Anthropic from doing an IPO this year. The frontier labs need capital to keep scaling. And they've exhausted the private market's appetite for more risk. They have no choice but to go public.
