X limits X Pro access to subscribers of the $40/month Premium+ plan without notifying users in advance; it was previously available in the $8/month Premium plan

Social network X is now limiting X Pro access to customers who subscribe to the X Premium+ plan, which is priced at $40 per month (or $33/month when paid annually).

Elon wants to charge $40/month or $395/year to use Tweetdeck. See ya ✌️
  • @nikitabier Nikita Bier on x
@monetization_x What we're launching in X in the next week or two will be much more powerful than XPro. We're only keeping XPro for people that absolutely need it for hyper-specific business workflows.

X Pro is a great tool, but it isn't worth a roughly 400% price increase (to $40/mo) to keep using it. Since X Pro was the only thing keeping me on a paid subscription, it's great motivation to unsubscribe. Solid move, @elonmusk!

I was fine paying $8/month for Tweetdeck. But for $40/month, the usefulness of Tweetdeck is no longer worth it. A bunch of stuff is constantly broken with it now anyway. Ridiculous.

So @elonmusk you want us to spend less time on X since you're taking away the tools (tweetdeck) that made it easy to engage and post? yeah that's a terrific idea that definitely won't backfire.

Moving Tweetdeck to the $40/month tier is ridiculous and makes this place much less usable.

First Twitter moved X Pro behind the Twitter Premium paywall. Now they've moved it behind the Premium+ paywall. X Pro is basically the only useful thing about having a Twitter Premium membership.

This is such a funny time to do this because all of my search columns have been broken for weeks

I think I figured this out. Elon rolled some heads at 𝕏 recently, including the CMO and 20 other people. According to WSJ, the remaining staff were told to “focus on growing revenue”. All of sudden, a major feature (Tweetdeck/X Pro) is haphazardly paywalled behind the most [image…

This bums me out. Means far fewer people can really get value from my lists of the AI community. Working on a way to watch the entire AI community here, but getting it up is going slowly. Looks like it will be next week before I can turn on my AI that reads everyone here in AI

Tweetdeck (now called X Pro) used to be free. Then you required X Premium, and now the Premium+ plan. Disappointing. It's hard to stay sane on social media and managed topic lists at least helped. @nikitabier (If you've not used it before, I'm sorry. I'd highly recommend it.) [im…

This is a very lame thing that just happened. [image]

It's over. Been using Tweetdeck (aka X Pro) to follow several of @Scobleizer's lists, but I guess this is the end. [image]

Twitter (X) has now made X Pro exclusive to Premium+ users • Now costs nearly $400 per year to use • Previously known as TweetDeck — which was free • Users were given no notice • Annual subscribers are being forced to upgrade mid-cycle [image]

TweetDeck, then X Pro has been my interface to the Twitter/X every single day I sat down at the computer. I use it to monitor the latest technology news, trending topics etc. It's how I stay connected across a range of topics, including local ones in my area. One of the best [ima…

Uh, so tweetdeck (X Pro) is now behind an even higher paywall? Wtf [image]
  • @kevinobie1 Kevin Obermeyer on x
As of today, you can't use X Pro (formerly TweetDeck) even at Premium. You have to pay for Premium+ for a huge amount more money and for services you may not even want or need. This platform continues to focus everything around the few highest paying voices. So frustrating.
  • @scobleizer Robert Scoble on x
I bet this is to keep people from scraping X with their OpenClaw machines and protecting the X API business model, which is what I'm using to get all posts from X to run my AI. Still takes away a major feature of X Premium.
  • @quaslacrimas Tantum on x
Man, did twitter really just make X Pro (the old tweetdeck) available to Premium+ only? Twitter has made a lot of questionable product/UX decisions in the last year, and the availability of the X Pro UI was a safety valve limiting the damage to people who didn't like the changes.
  • @mark_scheig Mark Scheig on x
The only reason I paid for premium on here was to use Tweetdeck. As of today, that's only available on the premium+ plan. Instead of $11 per month, $50 per month. For all you old In Living Color fans out there, I don't think so. Homie don't play that.
  • @gantosj Joe on x
A surprising & frankly greedy move by @X @elonmusk Millions of users were told to pay for X Premium to keep using TweetDeck. Now X has pushed TweetDeck into Premium+, raising the cost >5× from $102 to $560 No doubt @X is going to face a lot of backlash for this decision.🤮🤮 [image…

The app formerly known as TweetDeck will apparently now cost $40 a month — www.macrumors.com/2026/03/26/ x...
