I think AirPods Max 2 make a ton of sense to do now. It's been nearly what, 8 years since those came out and only change was colors/USB C? It's time especially as you get more students interested in Apple with Neo. Anecdotally 50% of highschoolers near me wear APM at the gym

“Chip and ship” because they are out of H1 chips and cheaper to just use the same H2 as is being produced for the other AirPods. No real hardware changes. All the new features are enabled by the chip.
