This makes a lot of sense if you believe, as I do, that neither consumers nor enterprises will consolidate on a single AI provider. Owning the interaction layer will be more important than which model answers the question, and that is exactly what Apple is securing here. Siri

This Apple-Google deal felt inevitable.  Gemini has quickly shown it can compete at the top tier of multimodal AI and serve as the foundation for a revamped Siri.  But just as important is the business reality: @Apple and @Google have history, and familiarity counts.  And let's be clear, partnering on a foundational model doesn't mean Apple loses control.  It means Apple gets to build on top of proven AI while playing to its strengths.
