As part of the price increases, the MacBook Air moves from 256 GB of storage at the base to 512 GB, while the MacBook Pro goes to 1 terabyte at the base (2TB for the M5 Max models). The October M5 MacBook Pro 14-inch also goes up, from $1599 to $1699.

It looks like with M5 Pro/Max they changed the cores a bit, the super core is the same actual performance core for M5, which was also changed to be called the super core The performance cores in M5 Pro/Max are new performance cores designed specifically for multi-threaded work

Update: ok so Apple is playing massive marketing tricks to make it sound better than it is. Renaming Perfomance cores to super cores. M5 Max is only 15% faster than M4 Max. It's not nearly as good as it sounds..

@SnazzyLabs I'm fine with the specs of the studio xdr, was what I wanted in an upgrade. Is your issue the price? I would expect around 3k for it. The 60hz Studio Display in 2026 is a little ridiculous, but it's under 2k. Apple displays have always been a premium.

if you already own a Studio Display you don't even need to consider buying the new one. If you want a Studio Display and you don't have one, buy used and save $600-800 dollars. If you want a decent Webcam, there are plenty that will be better than the built-in one for $100.
