AI Darth Vader in Fortnite last year and now Gemini's pure world model show how fast AI is evolving. We'll see constant leapfrogging between engine centric AI and world model centric AI until they come together for maximum effect.

We've been paying with Project Genie from Google, holy cow is this thing cool. AI winner

Rockstar should absolutely sue if their games were used in an authorized capacity to train this Google slop.

$TTWO, $U, $RBLX - video game stocks are tanking following Google's Project Genie, with people fearing AI will be able to make game engines. This is a very real threat going forward in my opinion. AI will one day be able to make whatever video games people want to play on demand,…

The Genie stuff is much less impressive for video game nerds who can recognize the obvious gameplay remixes from YouTube video clips of major titles like Dark Souls, Star Wars Outlaws, and GTA. You gaming newbs, get a grip.

Investors legit know nothing about video games, people with a lot of money might be the most dumb people on the planet 💀

Folks. Can I explain something about world models? Seems like today might be a good day for that. Advances in large-scale “world models” — whether developed by partners like Google or others — materially expand the frontier of interactive content creation. These models can

Video game stocks are suddenly crashing today with the launch of Google's Project Genie as investors think games will start getting made with AI ➡️ https://ca.investing.com/... #GoogleGemini #TakeTwo #CDProjektRED #Roblox #videogames [image]

Someone remind me how much Meta spent on the Metaverse? All while producing nothing while Google is doing this as a side quest.

Gamedev investors don't seem to understand tech... - Genie 3 has <3 min of persistence. Then it forgets what happened. Environment could be completely different when you return. Games requires persistence. This is a few minute hallucination. - Doesn't support interacting with

World models have huge advantages in vast knowledge of the world and ability to mash up varied content and styles. Engines have huge advantages in a stable representation of the world, reproducible simulation, and GPU and power efficient rendering.

Uhhh... I don't think Genie 3 is supposed to be generating Fortnite gameplay [video]

Genie 3 from $GOOGL is mind blowing... and the potential seems endless when it comes to video games $TTWO $RBLX $MSFT $U [image]

This is nonsense.  Genie doesn't allow you to create game worlds; it allows you to create procedurally generated environments which are just kinda okay at this point.  —  Anyway, no “major” game developer should feel threatened by this.  [embedded post]

I think some people truly underestimate the carnage that AI will cause across various industries.  And I think it's going to happen a lot faster than people realise...  [embedded post]

Fascinating.  —  The short clips I have seen so far looked interesting, but far, far, away from what I'd expect of a well-produced game.
