There is a reason Apple didn't talk about the Apple Watch Series 7 CPU this year... ...and it's because it's the exact same as last year's Series 6 👀 In fact it doesn't even get a new model number, it's effectively just a chassis tweak https://twitter.com/...
  • @_inside Guilherme Rambo on x
The fact that it doesn't even get a new model code makes me think that the rumors about a redesign were right, but something went south at too late of a time to be fixed, and they had to improvise. https://twitter.com/...

Apple Watch Series 7 — “later this fall.” Oddly no release date. There have been production delays.
  • @marcoarment Marco Arment on x
Not just any 4-year-old watch: the last watch with the tiny old screen design, the last one without color complications, and the last 32-bit product they sell. The technical burden of supporting it for both Apple and developers is FAR larger than for the Series 4. https://twitter…

It seems clear to me that the Apple Watch Series 7 was not supposed to have the design we saw today, and something went wrong from a manufacturing perspective towards the last second (causing delay). It's nice to think that Apple jiu-jitsued leakers but that is even less likely

I straight up didn't believe it, but @MajinBuOfficial was right. At the last minute this morning, he said the flat-edge Apple Watch wasn't happening. And flat edges was rumored by Prosser, Gurman, AND Kuo! https://twitter.com/...

The Apple Watch Series 7 announcement seemed rushed. Not only was it not on par with what we were expecting, many things felt brushed off and quickly glanced over. Not to mention, we're not going to even get the new Watch for at least a few more weeks.

Not sure what to say but that Apple Watch with a square design exists. I saw multiple images, and CADs, Gurman confirmed it, and 91mobiles shared very similar CADs. Honestly very confused...

Proud of pre-event news today. All iPhone design and cam features (Cinematic Video, Photographic Styles, and ProRes) plus 120hz, right on the money for Watch screens (even if body was a little curvier than expected) and faces, and iPad design turned out well, if ahead of time.

Kinda hard to stay excited about Apple Watch when still, 6 years on, I can't get a watchface I like to look at every day, and the hardware refreshes & industrial design tweaks have been so mundane 😪 It feels like we're on version 7 of the original Apple Watch, no iPhone 4 moment

The biggest surprise from the #AppleEvent is the new Apple Watch Series 7, which hasn't received a new boxy design 😂👏
  • @bengeskin Ben Geskin on x
Everyone said how square the new Apple Watch would be, and this is what we got. And you are telling me something about iPhone 14 😂😂😂
  • @jon_prosser Jon Prosser on x
our original Apple Watch story noted that the source told us they “weren't sure” if the design we were given was for series 7 or series 8. but clearly Kuo and @markgurman also thought we were getting the flat redesign today. wonder what happened 🤔 https://twitter.com/...

Apple Watch S7 seems minor over S6 but still good
  • @_mattkoonce Matthew Koonce on x
The display on Apple Watch Series 7 45mm has a higher resolution than the original iPhone (396x484 vs. 320x480, respectfully) #AppleEvent
  • @samifathi_ Sami Fathi on x
For a few frames, an Apple Watch during the Series 7 announcement video looks like it has flat-edges, as we were all expecting. But, it's not (shocker). #AppleEvent https://twitter.com/...
  • @leaksapplepro @leaksapplepro on x
Apple hasn't mentioned either on the keynote or on its website a supposed S7 chip for the Apple Watch. Now that is weird
  • @iupdate Sam Kohl on x
Uh...the Apple Watch Series 7 in this ad ( https://www.youtube.com/...) doesn't look like the rest: it looks exactly like the flat-edge design that was rumored. Second photo is a from the same ad, similar angle with the design that actually came out. What? 🤔 https://twitter.com/.…
  • @marcoarment Marco Arment on x
OH HOLY FUCK KILL THE SERIES 3 ALREADY WHAT THE FUCK sorry, I make a watch app
  • @_inside Guilherme Rambo on x
    THEY'RE KEEPING THE SERIES 3!!!1 #AppleEvent
  • @stroughtonsmith Steve Troughton-Smith on x
I dunno about you, but I as a watchOS developer and person who's had one on their wrist since 2015 can't tell the difference when I look at pictures of the new display on the Series 7 😅
  • @mgsiegler M.G. Siegler on x
Apple Watch Series 3 is the cockroach of Apple products. The sun will expand, swallowing the Earth, and it will still be on sale for $199. #AppleEvent
