Sources: some internal estimates show 1,200+ full-time Twitter employees resigned on November 17; Twitter previously laid off ~3,700 of 7,500 staff

Mr. Musk sent emails on Friday asking to learn about Twitter's underlying technology as key infrastructure teams have been decimated.

Now my app's product page shows gambling ads, which I'm really not OK with. Apple shouldn't be OK with it, either. The App Store has corrupted such a great company so deeply. They make so much from gambling and manipulative IAPs that they don't even see the problem anymore. https://twitter.com/...

I'm sure Apple would be totally OK with salespeople hanging out in Apple Stores, next to all of the nice Apple products, wearing sandwich boards and yelling at customers about their online casino gambling app as they try to shop there. https://twitter.com/...

“Stringent guidelines for the App Store” is a myth. They're strict about the 30%. Nearly every other “rule” is poorly, inconsistently, unevenly, or insufficiently enforced. They've shown this over and over again. Again, actions speak louder than words.

Wow, Pocket Casts has open-sourced their client apps: https://blog.pocketcasts.com/ ... I love that this will make it more likely that we'll get more podcast apps. For podcasting to remain healthy, open, and free (as in freedom), we need a diverse ecosystem of MANY different apps.

Yes. Apple plans to charge dating app developers using alternative payment systems a 27% commission in The Netherlands, instead of its usual 30% for in-app purchases

And after you pay your ~3% to your payment processor, Apple's 27% commission takes you right back up to 30%. Glorious. Come on, THIS is comedy. Amazing, ridiculous comedy. I'd be surprised if a single app ever took them up on this. (And that's exactly by design.)

I actually agree with most of Apple's concerns over side-loading. I REALLY don't want that, as I wrote last fall: https://marco.org/... But by refusing to yield on the IAP front, Apple is practically forcing regulators to act with a stronger hand and force side-loading. https://twitter.com/...
