Twitter plans to shut down TweetDeck for Mac on July 1 to “focus on making TweetDeck even better”, pointing users to the web version and an upcoming Preview
We're saying goodbye to TweetDeck for the Mac app to focus on making TweetDeck even better and testing our new Preview. July 1 is the last day it'll be available. You can still use TweetDeck on web and more invites to try the Preview will be rolling out over the next few months!
End of an era: “Tweetdeck for Mac is saying goodbye.” Yes, we'll still have the web version but it's been what, 13 years of using this super helpful tool every day?? https://t.co/QV3gKSskVT
twitter can you release the app to the community at least or something, I do not not not not not not not not not want to use the web version https://twitter.com/...
Ah 💩! The TweetDeck app is the one tool that made Twitter *useful* for me. The web version just hasn't cut it. “TweetDeck for Mac is saying goodbye. Beginning July 1, the TweetDeck for Mac application will be removed. You can continue accessing TweetDeck on the web”
OMG 😳 I'm still using tweetdeck in desktop 😔 this is such a pity! What Twitter client would you recommend me for desktop that is similar to tweetdeck? I really like the column based UI 🙏 https://twitter.com/...
RIP Tweetdeck for Mac—we always knew this day would come at some point, old friend Browser version is sadly a pale imitation https://www.macrumors.com/...
Bye TweetDeck for Mac ✌🏽Kinda feels like we've been in an on-again off-again relationship for a decade. Back to the browser version of @TweetDeck, we go. https://twitter.com/...
Who was in a meeting and said “Hey, I've got a great idea: Let's kill a good product before its terrible replacement is even ready to ship! Our most dedicated users will love that!” https://twitter.com/...
@EricInAdelaide We've opened the Preview to a select number of people for now so we can keep working on getting it *just* right. Invites to the Preview will continue as we expand over the coming months — you'll see an invite in TweetDeck if you've been selected to participate.
The galling thing about Twitter shutting down third-party clients back in the day was that it had so little interest in the clients it was making itself! Anyway just open up more APIs and let someone build a better version of this https://twitter.com/...
Tech companies will hire thousands upon thousands of workers whose only jobs are to send a few emails and attend a meeting or two and yet god forbid Facebook support an Instagram iPad app or Twitter keep Tweetdeck functional for Mac.
No single app has better helped me consume and manage the ongoing mayhem that is Twitter than @TweetDeck. Sad to see it disappearing from my desktop. But glad it will remain a Web app. https://twitter.com/...
