So... I got to use the Apple Vision Pro for 30 minutes today... and it was absolutely fucking incredible!!!  —  The eye and hand-tracking is perfect.  Accurate and precise and responsive.  No lag.  —  Passthrough blows Quest Pro away  —  https://www.inverse.com/...

I spent 10% of my life contributing to the development of the #VisionPro while I worked at Apple as a Neurotechnology Prototyping Researcher in the Technology Development Group. It's the longest I've ever worked on a single effort. I'm proud and relieved that it's finally announc…

I wonder how many people at Apple have had the experience of using the vision pro in VR mode, powered by one of the new Mac Pros. That's actually the ideal that everybody's driving towards.

NEW VIDEO - I got to try Apple Vision Pro and ask a ton of questions! Here is everything you need to know (for now) about Apple's new $3500 VR headset: https://www.youtube.com/... [image]

I also wonder how Apple landed on 2 hours of battery life and this battery puck size. I wonder if there are diminishing returns at a certain amount of battery capacity - or if Apple will offer a double sized pack for more hours. [image]

Just got hands-on with Apple Vision Pro. Detailed write-up coming tonight, but overall impressions are very positive all around. Pretty much best-in-class in everything (except gaming 😂). But that's not too surprising give the price tag. People outside the XR sphere are going to.…

Interesting - there's a kind of blend between hand rays, and using eye tracking to jump around with minimal movement. A quick pinch triggers triggers a cursor jump to the new gaze location. Hand tracking as an input modality makes so much more sense alongside eye tracking! https:…

So, I tried Vision Pro, and no matter how good you think it is... it's better. Just astonishing immersion backed by mind-boggling audio fidelity, and the UI has been polished and polished until it's almost invisible. Zero friction; I was a confident user in minutes. #WWDC23

🙌 Apple Vision Pro seems to perfectly support direct touch, which is a *fantastic* way to interact with digital content up close and personal, as well as typing with the keyboard. #WWDC23 https://developer.apple.com/ ... [video]

Initial Vision Pro thoughts 👇🏼 - Face imprint: Not going away - AR mode: Edges were ‘vibrating’ but resolution was wow - Nausea: Real—my eyes are still adjusting to bright natural light - Battery: Can't wait for the inevitable Hermes crossbody holder & Amazon dupes [image]

My entire life they've been trying to get us to wear these stupid fucking goggles and they're not gonna rest until every last dork is goggled up. Period. No one has ever wanted anything as bad as they want us to wear these idiotic goggles.

The enterprise use cases for Apple Vision are enormous: the ability to have any number of screens, immersive training and simulation, life size CAD design, head-up displays for any non-office work, and better productivity for traveling. Huge opportunity here.

Good piece from @JoannaStern on the Apple headset. Thinking more about this, I think Apple has been smart to present it as an AR rather than VR device, and it's obvs been very well executed. I remain v skeptical, but interested to see how it develops. https://www.wsj.com/...

I got to try Apple's Vision Pro headset, which is both an AR *and* VR platform and accomplishes much in the area of gesture control. Thing is, Apple's modern hardware is all about disappearing, and a face computer does the opposite of that. For @WIRED https://www.wired.com/...

There's some really amazing things going on with the Vision Pro—and beautiful hardware— but some large social hurdles to clear as well. It felt very dystopian! I don't really see what would make me truly want/need to get it. I want to use my phone/screens less, not more.
