Ten recent tech claims—including four involving Apple and OpenAI—were scored confirmed with no more than two calendar days between their first and last supporting articles. Eight claims first reported in December 2014 remain pending 4,267 or 4,268 days later, including Samsung’s reported LoopPay talks.
Observable acts kept every confirmed window under two days
From July 10 through July 13, four Apple/OpenAI claims were scored confirmed: Apple filed a lawsuit alleging trade-secret theft; Chang Liu left Apple for OpenAI’s hardware division; Apple alleged that Liu took materials; and reports described strain between Tang Tan and John Ternus. Each claim drew only two or three articles, with at most two calendar days between its first and last support.

Five more of the ten confirmed claims involved Johannes Heidecke’s departure, SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung’s memory-shortage warning, Alex Karp’s criticism of business AI fees, Higharc’s hiring after a $95 million Series C, and Palantir’s Nvidia Nemotron arrangement for US agencies. Their supporting articles also spanned no more than two calendar days.
Across the ten scores, filings, departures, hiring and named statements paired observable acts with short support windows.
Q3 added 2,212 records without changing the negative share
Q3 to date contains 6,450 status records: 5,207 confirmed, 1,017 rumored, 168 denied or failed, and 58 completed. Q2 contained 4,238 records: 3,386 confirmed, 727 rumored, 110 denied or failed, and 15 completed.
Confirmed claims rose from 79.9% of the Q2 record to 80.7% in Q3. Rumored claims fell from 17.2% to 15.8%.
Although Q3 added 2,212 records, the denied-or-failed share rounds to 2.60% in both quarters. The larger record changed the volume without changing negative closures’ share.
These quarter totals are status cross-sections rather than matched claim cohorts. The 1,017 Q3 rumors remain pending, so they cannot yet enter the failed count. Unequal exposure and unmatched cohorts prevent the confirmed-to-rumored ratio from scoring forecast accuracy.
Four Shein scores reduce to two failed venues
Shein accounts for four denied-or-failed records dated August 22 and 23; those claims reduce to two abandoned listing venues, New York City and London. Treating all four records as distinct IPO failures would double the underlying event count from two to four.
Tether’s plan for two bitcoin-mining sites in Uruguay carries a failed-project score after a power-supply dispute with UTE. Super Micro’s record carries a narrower denial: an independent probe found no evidence that its CEO or senior management knew of an alleged $2.5 billion Nvidia chip-smuggling scheme. That score closes the management-knowledge proposition while leaving other propositions about the alleged scheme unscored.
Wang Xingxing’s statement that robotics has not reached its “ChatGPT moment” rejects an analogy. Uber’s automated driver-account deactivations without adequate notice carry an operational-failure score.
The “denied or failed” bucket therefore contains abandoned plans, narrow denials, rejected narratives and operational failures. Preserving each proposition prevents a narrow denial from scoring as a broad acquittal or a repeated venue from scoring as a new event.
Samsung’s LoopPay claim stayed pending for 4,268 days
Samsung’s reported talks with LoopPay concerned a proposed 2015 mobile-payments launch intended to rival Apple Pay; the claim remains pending after 4,268 days. Bose’s reported streaming-music service carries the same status at exactly the same age.
Google’s reported talks with retailers over a one-click “Buy Now” button and free two-day shipping, the Pirate Bay administrator’s uncertainty over whether the site would relaunch, and Sony’s hypothetical legal prospects against publishers of stolen data all remain pending.
Snapchat contributes three more pending claims at 4,267 days. Leaked Sony emails said it acquired Scan.me for $50 million, acquired AddLive for $30 million, and planned a music feature. The two exact acquisition prices still did not produce terminal scores.
Samsung and Google were in talks; Bose and Snapchat had plans; Sony presented a legal counterfactual; and Pirate Bay explicitly expressed uncertainty. All eight claims remain pending because no terminal article closed the scored proposition.
Silence leaves each claim pending. Bose’s 2015 service plan still bears that score 4,268 days later, an age that records the absence of a terminal article.
Apple’s acts closed; Samsung’s talks stayed pending
Apple’s lawsuit and Chang Liu’s departure supplied observable acts, and their supporting windows each ended within two days. Samsung’s reported LoopPay talks still have no terminal score after 4,268 days. Apple’s two-day score records an available receipt; Samsung’s 4,268-day score records its absence.
