Still expecting a 27" MiniLED display from Apple in June. Guess it might be a Studio Display Pro...Have confirmed it with multiple companies in their supply chain...

Apple may not launch new mini-LED products this year due to cost concerns.

@robertrosenfeld Panel production has started for the new 27" MiniLED display to launch mid year. Assuming it will be called Studio Display Pro...I have insight on the 12.9" MiniLED iPad Pro as well. It is doing really well. They don't need to do one at 11". Don't expect it this …

I think @neilcybart's analysis is right: there won't be another iMac Pro. The Mac Studio fulfils that, with a separate 5K display. The iMac Pro was a stopgap while the Mac Pro was underpowered and the mini not stepped up. The iMac's a consumer product. Remember Jobs's quadrant. h…

@SheWantsTheRye @VadimYuryev Yes. Our contacts weren't aware of the separation of the iMac into Mac Studio + Studio Display, especially since there is a processor and camera in the Studio Display...

@SheWantsTheRye @VadimYuryev But the 27" MiniLED panel has started production. So, we expect it to launch in June with the Mac Pro...

This follows new rumors of no Mini LED Display in the new MacBook Air. May also explain the delay of iMac Pro. I wonder if this will push new iPad Pros to 2023 too. Any new insight @DSCCRoss? https://twitter.com/...

@VadimYuryev 27" MiniLED panel started production this month. Looks like we may have a Studio Display Pro in June...

Apple Studio Display gets an A13 to drive the speakers and webcam Apple TV 4K for all the streaming and gaming use cases ... A12

27" iMac started at $1800, they now sell the Studio Display (same screen) for $1600. Apple values an intel internal computer at about $200 https://twitter.com/...

@LukeMiani 1. Actual good design 2. Accurate colors 3. 6 speakers that's actually good unlike other monitors, with spatial audio 4. 12MP ultrawide camera with center stage unlike any monitors 5. 3 microphone array unlike any monitors 6. 600nits unlike any monitors 7. It's ia alum…

[meme: let us buy the 5k imac screen but as a separate apple monitor - ok]
  • @lukemiani Luke Miani on x
I frankly don't get the argument that the Studio Display is a good value. 2 days ago you could buy that same panel with an entire computer attached to it for $200 more... they called it the “iMac”
  • @christianselig Christian Selig on x
@anikaseibezeder Yeah that did shoot them in the foot a bit, shame that the laptop screen market is so much more rich in tech than the external monitor one ;_; I don't think Apple could go lower resolution because they already have the 4.5K resolution iMac
  • @christianselig Christian Selig on x
@eslamnahel I think since Apple seems to be doing the impossible with their Apple silicon/chips, people expected them to release a monitor that's basically impossible? They don't make the panels themselves unfortunately so they're at the whim of LG/Samsung/etc
  • @lukemiani Luke Miani on x
One has to imagine it would be possible for Apple to basically take Studio Display, goob the M1 Pro/Max/Ultra onto the, thicken the chassis, put a chin on it, and sell that as the new iMac. Could even have a tilt stand option like Studio Display!
  • @evleaks @evleaks on x
Say what you want about Apple, but they make a nice hinge.
  • @lukemiani Luke Miani on x
Using A13 in the Studio Display was actually genius because they just stopped using it in the iPhone SE so those chips are now going directly into it with no supply interruptions

@iOS_App_Dev Lacking competition =/= good value
  • @anildash @anildash on x
Apple should have just gone the whole way and let the new 27" studio monitor run tvOS on its own. Great speakers and screen, let it be a TV with no tuner when your computer isn't plugged into it.
  • @jb_nelson_ @jb_nelson_ on x
Here's the Studio Display packaging as well https://twitter.com/...
  • @anikaseibezeder Anika Seibezeder on x
@ChristianSelig Maybe it's just the fact they put such a good display into the MacBook Pro 🤔 Nothing compares to it... I would have taken the lower resolution for a higher refresh rate and brightness though.
  • @lukemiani Luke Miani on x
Apple really released a monitor with more performance than any Android smartphone today lmao
  • @markgurman Mark Gurman on x
Not sure why Apple is advertising the Mac Studio as “modular.” There's nothing modular about it as far as I can tell.
  • @tailosivetech @tailosivetech on x
I want it to boot into tvOS for people who like smaller TVs, got the A13 which could easily handle it https://twitter.com/...
  • @hrafntho @hrafntho on x
Same reason VR/AR headsets are all headed towards onboard processing capabilities, whether they're meant for pairing with PC or not. Range of sensors will only keep expanding, along with computations that's advisable to do onboard in addition to main computing functions. https://…
  • @jasoncross00 Jason Cross on x
With an A13 inside, wouldn't it be awesome if the Studio Display could boot up into an Apple TV mode with no Mac even hooked up? 🤔 Missed opportunity... #AppleEvent
