Anti-cheat has spent years escalating deeper into the operating system: after the aimbot and wallhack wave in Warzone and Destiny 2 pushed developers to respond, EA shipped its own kernel-level EA AntiCheat in 2022, and Riot's Phillip Koskinas described discrediting cheat developers directly as part of the strategy. CVCheat attacks that entire escalation ladder from outside it.

First-order effects

  • By reading the screen with computer vision and firing inputs externally, CVCheat never touches the game process — so the kernel-level defenses EA and Riot built are structurally blind to it, and the tool's claimed PC/Xbox/PlayStation reach means even closed console platforms lose their walled-garden advantage.

  • As developer Tyler Glaiel argues in the piece, effective detection has to move to statistical analysis of player metrics like headshot percentage — forcing studios to invest in server-side behavioral telemetry rather than more aggressive client access.
