A new version of Windows is officially on the way  —  Microsoft is officially confirming the name for the next release of Windows today: Windows 11.

    Another thought: Had many of the features coming to macOS Monterey just been announced on their own in a dedicated section, it would have felt big too. But the vibe was “Oh it's also getting all this stuff we made for the iPhone and iPad,” so it didn't land.

    Microsoft isn't saying whether Windows 10 update 21H2 will be the last major update to Windows 10 or not. There will obviously be security updates etc, but maybe no more significant Windows 10 feature updates?

    While admittedly comparing Apples to Microsofts here, it's striking how different their communications strategies are. Apple had press releases and a detailed product page ready to go the moment they finished the WWDC keynote announcing macOS Monterey. MS has nothing like that
