Android has a new look. Inspired by Material You, we've rethought the entire experience for #Android12, from colors to shapes, light and motion. It's more personal and expressive — a one-of-a-kind design, just for you. https://twitter.com/...

I truly hope Apple responds adequately to Android 12 with reasonable customization features in iOS 15. It doesn't need too, at all, but it would be nice by all accounts.

My 2017 Pixel 2XL no longer gets the latest version of Android 🤷‍♂️ The 2016 iPhone 7 gets iOS 14, and there's no indication that it won't run iOS 15. I'm past the point where I need an Android device for development and don't expect I'll be going back, so won't be replacing it

One piece of news in my Android 12 piece: Google promises it's going to have an update on App Tracking for ads in Android later this year. It'll expect some kind of parallel to Apple's ATT system and Chrome's Privacy Sandbox https://t.co/pCoWjiMf6v

I really like this new look planned for Android! It looks very clean and stylish. Essentially adds some of the design elements I like about iOS, while keeping the current flexibility and character of Android. 😯 💚 https://twitter.com/... https://twitter.com/...

As someone that feels specially attracted by the UI/UX side of apps I think this new step by Material Design looks very promising 🎨 Wondering at what pace we'll see it being implemented as real components and APIs. That has been one of the issues of MD in the past. https://twitte…

Android 12 with Material You, but specifically Material You as a concept, is probably one of the coolest UI designs I've seen before.

You have to wonder, if Google weren't making such large profits from advertising, if the market would see 3B users of Google's software *without paying them any royalties* as a good thing. Big Tech seems more powered by a hype cycle and monopoly rent-seeking than by innovation. h…

Unsurprisingly, Google says there are now “3bn” active Android devices (outside China). >90% are phones. Apple has 1bn+ iPhones, and there are another 7-800 Android phones in China. So, the total global base is now over 4.5bn, out of 5.7-5.8bn adults on earth
