The FSF feels *great* about bringing back Richard Stallman. They think the problem is how they communicated it. The Free Software Foundation cannot be redeemed. It is all done. We are now in a post-FSF world, and I think that will soon prove to be for the best. https://twitter.co…

I'm really grateful that the FSF board took the time to clarify this. This makes it crystal clear that they's rather have RMS around than become an inclusive and welcoming environment to more than half the people who write software. Toxic to the core. https://twitter.com/...

Today the @fsf put the final nail in for any “or later” clauses being used ever again. Aside from throwing out the board, getting rid of Stallman, and possibly shutting down the FSF, when this is done hopefully nobody ever does a copyright assignment or trusts in “or later” again…

I started to write a dissection of why this statement from the FSF defending their decision to bring RMS back to the board is both toxic and craven, but instead I have turned into a floating ball made entirely of middle fingers. https://www.fsf.org/...

Gadzooks. This is an institution that abandoned any kind of mission long ago in favor of just being about maintaining its own perverse, antiquated culture. I'm rooting for it to fully self-destruct. Looks like the board is right on that same page with me. https://www.zdnet.com/..…

This is a clear values statement from the FSF that leadership, regardless of how abusive it has been, is more important than the psychological safety of mantainers. https://twitter.com/...

RIP FSF You just nailed shut your own coffin. “We recognize the need to attract a new generation of activists for software freedom and to grow the movement. We will report our discussions and activities to the community as we move forward.” /via @mmasnick https://twitter.com/...

“[Stallman] has sincere regrets, especially at how anger toward him personally has negatively impacted the reputation and mission of FSF.” His most noteworthy “regret” is about others' anger? He's learned *nothing*. “I'm sorry you got upset” is not an apology. What a joke. https:…

It took him a year and a half to issue an apology , and FSF says they need his vision, so they brought him back. Something tells me this is not over yet. Only time will tell.

An apologist's statement, which contains many reasons to prevent marginalized groups in tech from contributing to Free Software. RMS could be replaced with a cactus and be less harmful to the movement. https://www.fsf.org/...
