First look at Surface Duo, Microsoft's foldable Android phone and the first pocketable Surface device

Microsoft doesn't think Windows is important anymore. “The operating system is no longer the most important layer for us,” said @satyanadella. Microsoft is now willing to work with Google on its apps and services. My thoughts on Microsoft's historic day: https://www.theverge.com/…

Today we shared where Surface and Microsoft are...and where we're going. I hope you liked the products. We can't wait to see what you do with them #MicrosoftEvent #SurfacePro7 #SurfaceLaptop3 #SurfaceEarbuds #SurfaceNeo #SurfaceDuo pic.twitter.com/UIoW8SDPNN

I'm sorry, but this is called “vaporware.” A device with indeterminate specs, a release date a year away, and only company employees can use it? Kind of insane the way it's being covered as if it's real. Also no offense but these bezels are disgusting. https://www.theverge.com/..…

This is really cool. Touch screens were terrible until pinch to zoom in/out and inertial scrolling worked. We're going to have the pinch-to-zoom moment for foldable phones soon enough. And I have no idea what it looks like, and that is awesome. https://twitter.com/...

Now all this needs is for someone to go back and develop Microsoft's original Courier software concept and we've arrived https://www.theverge.com/...

I don't see the value but it could be interesting if: 1. make it 3.5-4inch screens 2. Make the screens thinner 3. Reskin android better (bring back zune-like metro) 4. Stabilize the way the VM is handled, apps crash too easily in android https://www.theverge.com/...

😍 The perfect xCloud device? https://twitter.com/...

I was able to slip it into my jeans pocket, and it's definitely the first pocketable Surface device. It looks and feels like a miniature tablet that's also a phone https://twitter.com/...

Exactly. To think Apple or Samsung couldn't put two LCD or OLED screens connected by a hinge is hilarious. https://twitter.com/...

These aren't foldable devices. Microsoft made a hinge. 😂 Do you want big hinge? Or smol hinge? 🥴 pic.twitter.com/zsNTBKGoT8

Humbling to see WSL in this list. https://twitter.com/...

foldable phone is horrific and disgusting and if you think i'm gonna buy this when apple steals this idea for iPhone 15 you're absolutely right https://twitter.com/...

Microsoft is back in the phone game. This is the Surface Duo. It folds, fits in your pocket, and makes phone calls. Even though Microsoft refuses to call it a phone, there is no doubt it is one—and it's a big deal for the company: https://www.wired.com/... https://twitter.com/...
