Microsoft plans to bring its Halo franchise to the PlayStation for the first time with the launch of a 25th‑anniversary remake of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2026
As part of a strategic shift away from exclusivity, Microsoft is bringing Halo to Sony's competing console for the first time.

I'm happy Halo is on PS and Steam. Embrace the publisher strategy and move beyond the pain (finally). But don't have your community manager wearing a PS shirt the day you announce it. That just rubs it in the face of loyal Xbox fans too much. How you treat players will last a

This isn't technically incorrect given consoles are no longer the primary entry point for gaming. The issue is that Xbox has de-emphasized its own console ecosystem while falling short of building a true Xbox ecosystem on mobile, PC, and cloud. Hence Xbox games on PS5.

“Microsoft has decided to move in another direction.” Let's keep it real and call this the PR spin it is. Xbox would love to be in PlayStation's or Nintendo's position collecting a lot of 30% platform royalties. But they lost.
