@MaxWinebach theyre just MCP integrations; not actual apps. the form factor is LIKE an app within the chatGPT app, but that's just because an mcp server returning html is all you need to be compatible with chatgpts standards.

Seems like OpenAI is trying to turn ChatGPT into an OS. It has built in “apps” into the prompt window (i.e. Zillow, Spotify, Coursera, etc.) that you can run within your prompt. They're trying to keep everyone locked into one place. The vision is clear: complete audience capture.…

@dhasandev Yes true but Apple has in the past sent devs to just use safari rather than the App Store for things like this. We'll see because you are right about it being just HTML but Apple sometimes isn't a fan of stuff like this. Time will tell.

OpenAI's apps in Chatgpt are a great example of how early we have been with agentic design patterns. This update is like going from DOS to the early stages of Windows or Mac. We've been living largely in a text-only interaction paradigm for nearly 3 years with AI, yet if history

Hot take: OpenAI AgentKit is NOT going to kill agent-builder startups. Tons of agents use a mix of models from different providers. As new models are released, they're swapped in. AgentKit will only support OpenAI models. There's TONS of room for a model-agnostic AgentKit.
