Audience: wants 15 seconds. AI: best at 15 seconds. Timing: suspiciously perfect.

Played with this tonight.  Super interesting and also kind of a mind fuck to have a completely closed loop content/dopamine system.  I'm sure my consumption patterns could train the algorithm to generate perfect new content, on the fly, with enough compute.  I would basically be …

For this early version, we've partnered with Midjourney and Black Forest Labs while we continue developing our own models behind the scenes.

You can create from scratch, remix what you see, or just scroll through to check out videos from the creators + the visual artists we've been collaborating with. [video]

Got access to Vibes, the new Meta AI video app. It looks like TikTok / Reels, but all the videos are AI generated - and you can click to see a prompt + remix. Filmed a walk through of what it looks like & how to make a video (cut out generation time for watchability) ⬇️ [video]

Alex, this is nice but you but it's not what superintelligence ought to be...Instead, there's a wide world of capabilities that AI is bad at, that a creativity focused company should excel at.  Writing poems, short stories, essays that capture the nous...

the central plot point of “infinite jest” is a film so engrossing that anyone who watches it loses all interest in anything else: they can't eat, sleep, or function. in the book, terrorists fight over it. In real life, Alex Wang got paid a couple b to make it happen

Meta just rolled out Vibes, a new feed in the Meta AI app for short AI-generated videos. They've teamed up with Midjourney and Black Forest Labs, while quietly building their own models in the background. [video]

Guys it is very important that you resist Vibes. Disable your parents' phones if they tell you they're using Vibes. Make fun of your friends relentlessly until they stop using Vibes. Fire employees caught watching Vibes. We're better than this. Cmon.

Meta AI partnered with @midjourney and BFL on video and image generation and launched a feed for AI generated content inside the Meta app. Meta AI is also working on their own image and video generation models. [image]

Early thoughts: 1) Feels v reminiscent of the Midjourney Explore page! 2) Adding music is a cool touch 3) The videos are simple (no Veo 3-style vlogs or narratives), so the novelty wears off quickly 4) It's cool to give AI creators a place to build an audience (w/ followers)

    1) What's the point of this? To confirm that you aren't consuming / enjoying human creativity? 2) I continue to have a difficult time understanding why AI researchers actually choose to work at Meta.

So I just tested Meta's Vibes via the Meta AI app, from what I understand, this is their official partnership with Midjourney. Right now you can generate what looks like unlimited midjourney style images and to me, it looks like it's using Midjourney video to do image to video.

Meta just released an AI video app powered by Midjourney called “Vibes”. It's a feed in the Meta AI app. Think reels, but AI & interactive. You can create & remix vids, make image/video edits, relight, restyle, add music, & publish. It's also entirely free to generate 👀 [video]
