Seeing a lot, lot, lot of “if I'm using Claude 4 in Cursor, is Claude Code really that much better?”  Why not just try it and see, right?  Lots of devs “fearful” of a CLI and used to GUI, and also people really rely on things like hitting the play button in their IDE to run/test …

@IndianAppGuy ... Claude Code is literally a CLI tool that fixes your code while you type three words. Windsurf is another ide with AI bolted on - Claude Code is raw command line power where you just type what you want done. The “hard” part is literally just: claude -p “fix auth …

Claude Code's CLI didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. It has a VS Code integration for viewing diffs though I mostly end up using the built-in Source Control changes view. A benefit of CLI is that it should work with basically any computer / editor setup.

My answer to those who are curious why a CLI tool like Claude Code can beat a super-tailored Cursor IDE: You don't spend much time interacting with the UI. You spend much time thinking, prompting, reviewing the result, and iterating. So you gotta need better results. That's [imag…

Claude Code users out there... why are you using Claude Code vs. Cursor or VS Code? What are the use cases that work well with CLI coding tools that IDE code editor can't do? Genuinely wanting to understand. 🙏

No need for Cursor anymore with claude. Do this instead; 1. Subscribe to Max Plan ($100) with Claude CLI. 2. Use MS Visual Code 3. Get the CLINE extension (FREE) 4. Tell Cline ext to use Claude-code instead of Pay-Per-use API key. Now you have a nice GUI as well.

In coding, CLI is unbeatable: cleaner, faster, no need to reinvent the IDE. Just pair it with Claude Code and your favorite editor for minimalist power. Anthropic's leading the charge.

@phuctm97 Dear person asking to put Claude Code inside an IDE, You're like someone asking to put a jet engine on a horse. Claude Code doesn't need your IDE. Your IDE needs Claude Code. But it can't have it. You're sitting there with 47 extensions, 3GB of node_modules for your the…

Claude Code launching as a CLI was actually genius. Rather than launching an IDE out of the gate and competing directly with Cursor and others, as a CLI they integrate directly within their competitors products and within user's current workflows. This will allow them to train

kind of blown away at how good claude code is. literally the best designed CLI i have ever used. very engaging and transparent and the work it does is generally high quality

for coding, the cli is undefeated. cleaner, faster, no need to reinvent the ide. just pair claude code with whatever editor you love & you're flying. feels like the future is actually going back to basics... minimalist interface, maximal power. anthropic has a huge lead here.

Gemini CLI is different to just coding in your IDE. It has access to lots of tools which makes it an amazing AI agent. @iRomin covers these in his thread.

My new IDE - claude code in a terminal & a google doc where I'm teeing up what I'm going to ask it to do next...i can get the next request ready in about the time it takes it complete the previous request [image]
