I have a high opinion of LLM capability, but Amodei talking about 20% unemployment in the next 1-5 years is neither plausible nor helpful. I do think this is about raising capital, and needs to be countered by the phrase “normal technology.” [embedded post]

I really appreciate the honesty on this. The whole “we are going to augment you (out of a job) not replace you haha 👀” is quite dishonest. Transformative technology will transform and we need to grapple with how that could go wrong and not lie to people about it.
