In a weird X Spaces chat, Elon Musk and Alice Weidel, a co-chair of the German far-right party AfD, pushed disinformation about Hitler, migrants, war, and more

God!  Martians!  A “communist” Hitler!  It was heavy on oddness and light on policy as the X owner and the AfD co-leader hit it off.

But by the end of the night, Elon Musk's live conversation with far-right German politician Alice Weidel had veered off the rails — and indeed off the planet entirely — into a rambling dialogue about Hitler, the existence of God, and why “future Martians” will one day save the Ea…

I see we're working our way through all the stupidest historical takes now, in a mission to kill every living brain cell on earth.  If Hitler was a “communist socialist guy”, why were Communists and Socialists the very first people he killed?  Riddle me that Batman.  —  www.polit…

‪Geschichtsklitterung: German compound word meaning a knowingly false reinterpretation of history not rooted in facts.  Like calling Hitler a “socialist” or “communist” despite the fact that Nazis killed 20,000 German communists in concentration camps and by execution. www.politi…

Elon Musk and the leader of Germany's far-right AfD party Alice Weidel agreed on a lot during their hour long conversation today, including that “Hitler was a communist” https://www.wired.com/...
  • @suchtirma @suchtirma on x
Alice Weidel saying Hitler was a communist and Elon Musk not even correcting her sums up what kinda knowledge Elon has on politics & what he's promoting with the AFD. There's no excuse to say that as politician, its either a severe lack of knowledge or simply rewriting history.

Elon Musk and Alice Weidel (of the far-right German AfD party) put their brains together for a discussion: Weidel: “The National Socialists (Nazis) were socialist. Adolf Hitler was a socialist.” Musk: “Yeah, they nationalized industries like crazy.” Weidel: “He was a [video]

Elon Musk just did a promotion “interview” with the leader of the German far right AfD. What question did he proudly highlight on his own account? Him asking her if she unequivocally supports Israel, and her saying yes of course we must do everything for Israel. [image]
  • @jamesrbuk James Ball on x
Elon sounds *extremely* bored in his chat with the AfD's Alice Weidel. He's run out of questions for her and is sort of politely batting off the ones she's asking him to fill the silences.

In case you missed it last night, Elon Musk held a hour-long conversation on here with Alice Weidel, the leader of far-right German party AfD, which has deep ties to neo-Nazis. Their conclusion? “Hitler was a communist” https://www.wired.com/...
  • @jamesrbuk James Ball on x
After one of the most uninspired retellings of the “every atom in your body was forged in the heart of a star” story I've ever told, we're now on a very low-energy discussion as to the existence or nature of God. Safe to say it's not like a usual political interview, I guess.

BREAKING: Elon Musk: “Only AfD can save Germany”. Sorry but I vehemently disagree.
  • @tvietor08 Tommy Vietor on x
Elon Musk is currently doing a Twitter spaces interview with German right-wing extremist AfD party leader Alice Weidel. Elon just agreed with her claim that ACTUALLY Hitler was really just an anti-semitic communist/socialist. The man's a historian, too!
  • @tom_nuttall Tom Nuttall on x
Ten minutes and counting into listening to Musk drone on to Weidel about space travel, it's pretty funny that very serious European Commission officials were worried this event might give the AfD an unfair advantage in Germany's election
