Many Netflix viewers faced issues while watching the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight and the undercard bouts, including the stream glitching and losing sound
Netflix: [image] X: Peter Yared / @peteryared : I used to run tech for CBS which included streaming the Superbowl. Core issue for Netflix is that they operate their own CDN which is not built for live. They don't have the operating capability and vendor relationships to do large scale live streaming. Lucas Shaw / @lucas_shaw : The Netflix fight last night had 65M concurrent viewers. That would make it one of the most-watched events in the world this year. @deggans : We'll see. Netflix has a worldwide footprint. They may wind up drawing that many people on Xmas, when sportsa fans don't have a lot of similar options. Netflix better fix those streaming issues. It has the NFL coming next month. Christina Warren / @film_girl : This sort of reminds me of when I watch the Pacquiao and Mayweather on meerkat and periscope off of strangers pay per view. The interesting stuff was what happened online, not the fight itself. Rich DeMuro / @richontech : I don't know who has to hear this but if you're streaming Hot Frosty on Netflix right now, it can wait Taylor Soper / @taylor_soper : Yoooo come on Netflix Christina Warren / @film_girl : Trying not to jinx myself but my stream is 1080p and flawless and we've got it on 3 devices. (Gigabit fiber through a provider that typically has its shit together tho) Ashlee Vance / @ashleevance : Oh fuck.
