Breaking: The Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson fight on Netflix last night peaked at 65 million concurrent viewers, I'm told. That's up from 1.8 million concurrent streams for the Tom Brady roast earlier this year. https://www.bloomberg.com/...

Netflix has 6 weeks to identify the issue and fix it before the NFL on Christmas Day. It's one thing for there to be angry viewers during an exhibition boxing match. It's another to piss off the NFL>

Update from Netflix: 60M households watched the fight. (Peaked at 65M concurrent.) Bigger than just about everything but the Super Bowl, the Olympics and maybe some soccer/cricket.

Netflix had a bunch of issues during tonight's fight. Tens of thousands of people had problems watching. Those who did watch complained about the caliber of the main card. And yet... the viewership numbers will be huge. https://www.bloomberg.com/...

I used to run tech for CBS which included streaming the Superbowl. Core issue for Netflix is that they operate their own CDN which is not built for live. They don't have the operating capability and vendor relationships to do large scale live streaming.
