Xreal had already positioned its Air 2 and Air 2 Pro as premium display glasses; the Beam Pro adds a dedicated Android-based computing and connectivity layer rather than making the glasses carry that role themselves. It is therefore a test of whether a lower-cost companion can make Xreal's glasses easier to use across apps and devices.
