The CEO of SIE answered that question in Brussels. In his words: “I don't want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger.”

Sony suggests to the CMA that Microsoft could release a buggy version of Call of Duty on PlayStation which could make gamers lose confidence “in PlayStation as a go-to venue to play Call of Duty.” Seriously... 🙃 https://twitter.com/...

Sony's response to the latest CMA findings has also been shared— Sony says Microsoft's offer for CoD on PS+ is “unviable” and says Microsoft could include “bugs and broken features” on the PS version to incentivize Xbox purchases. https://twitter.com/...

Microsoft says its 10-year deal for Call of Duty on PlayStation means any CoD game can be on Sony's subscription service. Sony says Microsoft's proposal for license terms is “troubling” and “would commercially destroy SIE's multi-game subscription business model.” https://twitter…

Microsoft offered Sony (the dominant console leader for well over a decade, with 80% market share) a 10 year agreement on far better terms than Sony would ever get from us. We've also offered Sony guaranteed long-term access to Call of Duty. But they keep refusing. Why? https://t…

I'm sorry but Sony suggesting that Microsoft would “add bugs and errors during the final level of Call of Duty” is embarrassing. Truly a new low in this ABK drama. Pathetic. https://twitter.com/...

a bit rich for microsoft to claim it needs to be allowed to acquire activision blizzard so it can become a competitor in mobile gaming to take on apple and google (?), while expecting we ignore what that would mean in other parts of the games industry https://www.gamesindustry.bi…

Sony isn't happy with Microsoft's Call of Duty 10-year deal. Microsoft have “dragged their feet, engaged only when they sensed the regulatory outlook was darkening, and favored negotiating in the media over engaging with SIE.” Nintendo and Nvidia both signed the 10-year deal tho …

PlayStation chief Jim Ryan said “I don't want a new Call of Duty deal. I just want to block your merger,” according to Activision executive Lulu Cheng Meservey. The comment was made on February 21st, the day behind closed doors meetings were held with the EU https://twitter.com/.…

it blows my mind that the CMA has a body of evidence that includes 3 million Microsoft and Activision documents and 2,100 emails from the public. I get stressed looking at these regulatory filings, let alone 3 million documents 🤯

NEW: Microsoft says they believe Activision can make Warzone and latest Call of Duty games run on the Nintendo Switch without issue, stating the game runs on “low end PCs” already. Says it can be done in a ‘timely manner’ https://twitter.com/...

In regards to Microsoft saying Activision can easily make Warzone and new Call of Duty's on Nintendo Switch, I remember back in 2019 hearing many CoD devs saying the Switch would overheat with the way the engine was. Maybe things changed recently!

This is getting ridiculous. Sony is now insinuating that Microsoft will purposefully release a buggy Call Of Duty game on Playstation to push players to Xbox lmao https://twitter.com/...

Sony is worried that Microsoft will sabotage Call of Duty for the PlayStation. Sony says it's concerned Microsoft could strategically degrade the quality and performance of Call of Duty on PlayStation. Details here: https://www.theverge.com/...
  • @dmc_ryan Ryan McCaffrey on x
Microsoft would have to have a collective IQ of about 10 in order to think that “sabotaging” the PlayStation version of Call of Duty would be a good idea (spoiler alert: they're not stupid). This is a straight-up LOL scenario: https://www.ign.com/...

Sony is absolutely right to be concerned that Microsoft Xbox could sabotage games w/ Activision. Microsoft literally said they want Bethesda games to run better on Xbox than PS5. So far we've seen numerous games run better on PS5. Sabotage would be 1 way to meet their goals🔧 http…
