@SadlyItsBradley Could still do the Quest 2 thing and move the optics even if the screen was single fixed panel. A wheel would presumably allow for more intervals than the 3 you get with the Q2 today, which would help some people. Does sacrifice some screen resolution.

@SadlyItsBradley Why use a dial for transitioning between AR and VR? What affordances does .5 of MR afford? Likely a Reality button (like on the Magic Leap 1) is more appropriate. Dial is probably for volume? 🤷🏻♂️ if it isn't for IPD.

Facebook/Meta stock is up 13% after hours (highest in 7 months). Quite a bit to please investors. Called out the fact that Nov layoffs impacted Metaverse/Reality Labs. Cut spending outlook by at least $1 billion (to $30-33 billion from $34-37b). Mention of even more poss cuts:

Zuck really loves VR. No one asks about Reality Labs in the Earnings Call Q&A, and Zuck finds a way to talk about it in the end.

Meta CFO just confirmed that Reality Labs losses will continue to grow in 2023. So that means Reality Labs will lose at least another $13.7 billion this year. wow.

$META VR “Reality Labs” is still a disaster. Revenue DECLINED Y/Y on both a quarterly and 12-month basis. Loses accelerated to $4.3B in Q4 vs $3.3B a year ago. If Mark had invested into an AI chatbot the stock would be $400+

Meta reports 4.3bn operating loss for Reality Labs, but it's “actively reevaluating projects” to cut costs. At the Within trial, Zuckerberg suggested he wouldn't have made a bid for the company if things looked the way they do right now (reportedly $400m +).

Let's say $META tonight decides to scrap their entire Metaverse plan and completely reign in spending on Reality Labs If such is the case, my bearish view on the company is invalidated. Shares could pop Absent this, I think $META is in secular stagnation with their Ad product

Imagine a startup going through $30 billion in funding, still barely having a business, and then getting another $15 billion this year with no roadmap for@immediate growth. Welcome to Meta Reality Labs, an organization that could never be feasible anywhere else. https://twitter.c…

I have to come clean. They seem to be using a single display for Quest 3 these days. So I have to question something: What if the dial on the Stinson CADs are actually copying the reported dial that switches between AR and VR like the Apple Headset has? 🫥 https://twitter.com/... …
