Vera had already been positioned as a broader Rubin-platform component: early benchmark coverage compared its 88 Nvidia-designed Olympus cores with Intel and AMD x86_64 processors, while Nvidia also linked Rubin hardware to Space-1 orbital data-center plans.

OpenAI was previously identified as planning a large Vera Rubin-based deployment in the second half of 2026. Naming OpenAI, Anthropic and SpaceX as early CPU users turns that platform narrative into a set of marquee customer commitments across frontier-model development and specialized infrastructure.

First-order effects

  • Anthropic, OpenAI and SpaceX become early adopters of Nvidia’s in-house Vera CPU, giving Nvidia reference customers for a CPU designed to work alongside its AI accelerators.

    Much of Nvidia Computex was subtle critique of how expensive and inefficient Trainium by Amazon and TPU by Google really are (even mentioned that Google is big client). This was incredible. And i like Amazon and Google very much

    CoreWeave, with help from Nvidia and Dell, pulled a very desperate move by showcasing a picture of a Vera Rubin rack, hopefully in one of CoreWeave's datacenters, to show that they are one of the first, if not the first, to have a ‘Vera Rubin,’ all in order to pump their stock,
