Apple knew this was coming which is why they're being so aggressive with Mac pricing. They're buying up all the memory supply to starve their competition, and keeping prices stable while their competitors are raising prices by hundreds of dollars. 2026 will be the year the Mac

I'm sorry. The fact that Microsoft is charging $1150 for a laptop with a 178 PPI display should be illegal. There's zero reason why anyone on this planet should buy this piece of shit. [image]

The entry-level Surface Laptop might have been the most MacBook Neo-like machine out there. But thanks to the RAM shortage, its price just went up and it now costs twice as much as the Neo.

The confusion over this news is fascinating. These are two different markets. Mac Neo is for iConsumers tired of @Apple's BMW-like pricing. Surface is for corporate accounts. Also, one runs MacOS, the other Windows. [image]

I (and other tech journos) have been sounding the alarm about digitalia prices skyrocketing due to RAM cost increases, warning those who were thinking about buying to do so sooner rather than later. — Well, if you have been waiting ... “later” is now. The ship has sailed. Elv…
