“People who have worked closely with him described him as highly cost-conscious and skeptical of investments with uncertain returns.  This approach stands in notable contrast to rivals such as OpenAI, Meta Platforms, and Google, who invest tens of billions of dollars in data centers, chips, and AI researchers.”  Considering how fast all these AI companies run out of money it wasn't a bad call whatsoever.  And to whoever the fuck suggested to use AI to reorganize the homescreen: fuck you.  Glad Craig rejected shit like that

That for once I'm not okay with. People have millions of phone chargers at home. But you just can't use a 5-10W charger for a MacBook Pro. And most people don't have such a thing already

Sources: Craig Federighi and other Apple executives voiced concerns that personalized Siri didn't work properly; some think it has to be rebuilt from scratch

Apple Inc.'s turmoil in its AI division reached new heights on Friday, with the company delaying promised updates to the Siri digital assistant for the foreseeable future.

@sdw It's not Siri. It's Apple's current software department. iOS has been terribly buggy for 3 generations now, Apple Intelligence way over promised and now this. THIS is the issue. Not Siri.

@MacRumors Whoever made these specs up definitely doesn't know shit. Opening a 6.1" like a book-style foldable resulting in over 12"? Lol And due to the folding system, you can't just add the thickness together. 4.6mm wouldn't result in 9.2mm folded but more like 9.5

What I just thought about after it was mentioned in the iFixit teardown of the Vision Pro... People complain ALL THE TIME about how Apple makes important stuff like batteries oh-so hard to replace. Then, they literally do a replaceable battery and thats ALSO somehow bad now 😂

Apple Vision Pro teardown: not great repairability-wise, an unforgivable proprietary battery plug, and a lenticular lens layer that makes EyeSight look blurry

The strangest thing about the Vision Pro is also the thing that makes it most uniquely Apple: it's got a big shiny bubble glass front …
